The semi-automatic filling machine was equipped with a pump that fed the container at the top of the bottler with wine and from there it free-flowed to fill the glass bottle to the set point. 

Placing the bottle in the machine, the operator started filling the bottle. As soon as the bottle was full, he removed it and placed another in its place. This process was carried out continuously throughout the bottling process.
